K Charles Haulage Ltd is committed to conducting business with integrity, transparency, and respect for human rights. We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation in any form within our operations or supply chain.
As a UK-based haulage provider serving domestic and European markets, we recognise our responsibility to ensure that our workforce, partners, and suppliers operate in accordance with the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and uphold the highest ethical standards. We acknowledge that the transport and logistics sector can carry heightened risks related to labour practices, particularly involving drivers, temporary subcontracting, and migrant workers in cross-border operations. We mitigate these through our predominantly in-house model and rigorous oversight.
This statement outlines the steps we take to prevent modern slavery, promote fair working conditions, and maintain accountability across all areas of our business.
K Charles Haulage Ltd was incorporated on 7 November 2017 and operates under the trading name K Charles Haulage. The company is headquartered in Aylesford, Kent, United Kingdom, and is led by its Director, Karol Kruszyniewicz.
We specialise in UK domestic and European haulage, including temperature-controlled and heavy goods transport.
Our operations are primarily delivered through our own fleet and directly employed drivers, supported by an in-house office team responsible for compliance, customer service, and operational management. This structure allows us to maintain high levels of oversight, accountability, and ethical standards across our business activities.
K Charles Haulage Ltd operates a predominantly in-house model, allowing strong oversight and control across our operations.
Our supply chain includes directly employed drivers and office staff, long-term European logistics partners, and occasionally vetted subcontractors engaged during periods of peak demand. We also work with operational suppliers such as fuel providers, vehicle maintenance companies, and parts suppliers.
We conduct due diligence on all partners, subcontractors, and key suppliers before engagement, including checks on their labour practices, compliance with relevant laws, and ethical standards. We expect all partners and suppliers to comply with applicable labour laws, provide fair wages and conditions, and uphold the same ethical standards we apply within our own business.
K Charles Haulage Ltd maintains a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation in any part of our business or supply chain.
We are committed to:
We expect the same high standards from all organisations we work with and will not knowingly engage with any business involved in modern slavery or unethical labour practices.
K Charles Haulage Ltd provides modern slavery awareness training to ensure employees understand their responsibilities in preventing exploitation.
All new staff receive induction training covering our anti-slavery policy, ethical standards, sector-specific risks (such as those related to driver recruitment and subcontracting), and reporting procedures. Refresher guidance is provided periodically to maintain awareness.
Employees are encouraged to report any concerns confidentially without fear of reprisal. Reports can be made to their line manager, the Director (Karol Kruszyniewicz), or via enquiries@kcharles.co.uk. Management is responsible for investigating and addressing issues promptly.
Through ongoing training and awareness, we promote a culture of responsibility, vigilance, and ethical conduct across the business.
K Charles Haulage Ltd is committed to regularly reviewing its policies, risks, and practices to help prevent modern slavery within its operations and supply chain.
During the reporting period, we have:
We will continue to monitor progress, conduct periodic risk reviews, and make improvements where necessary to ensure our business and supply chain operate responsibly and transparently.
This Modern Slavery Statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes K Charles Haulage Ltd’s statement for the current financial year.
The Board and Director affirm their commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking within the business and its supply chain. The Director has approved this statement, and it will be reviewed and updated annually.
